After a call with a customerA summary, a to-do list, and a follow-up ready to send

Your screen may look a little different (for example, the name under the message box). That's fine. Don't have a Claude account yet? Guide 1 covers everything. Tap any screenshot to see it bigger.

Just finished a call with a customer, and all you have is a few words on a sticky note, or just in your head? Today Claude turns them into a summary, a list of what to do and by when, and a follow-up message you send to the customer. It works best right after the call.

1

Write what you talked about

Start a new chat (on a computer: the new chat button at the top of the side menu, called New chat or New; on a phone: the pencil icon at the top), or open your business project, if you have one from guide 2.

Important: on a computer, Enter alone sends the message. To go down a line, press Shift and Enter together. On a phone, the Enter key goes down a line. Sent it by mistake before you were done? No big deal: paste the rest in the next message.

In the message box, write everything you remember from the call, in no order: what the customer wants, dates, what you promised. Don't feel like typing? Tap the microphone next to the message box and talk, like in step 3. The first time, your phone or browser asks whether to allow the microphone: allow it (Allow).

Don't write a Social Security number, a credit card or sensitive customer details. A first name is enough.

2

Add the request

Go down a line under the notes (on a computer: Shift and Enter), copy this message and paste it:

These are my notes from a call with a customer (above). Make me: (1) A short summary of what we agreed on. (2) What I need to do, and by when. (3) A short, polite follow-up message to the customer that sums up what we agreed. Don't make up details I didn't write, and for anything missing, write "CHECK:". Plain text, no asterisks and no formatting.

After you tap "Copy": click inside Claude's message box and paste. On a phone: press and hold in the box, then tap "Paste". On a computer: Ctrl+V (on a Mac: Command+V).

Click the orange arrow (mark 2 in the screenshot).

In the message box (1): the notes from the call, and under them the request. The send arrow (2)
In this example: messy notes from a call with a bride about her wedding hair.
3

Go over the "CHECK:" lines

Claude summarizes, writes what to do and by when, and marks "CHECK:" on anything missing or worth confirming (in the blue frame in the screenshot).

Claude writes the answer bit by bit. Wait until it finishes, then scroll down.

In a project, Claude can also check your notes against the Business page, for example your hours. Without a project, it doesn't know what's on your Business page, and that's fine.

Go through each "CHECK:", and decide. Anything that needs to change, write to Claude underneath, like you would to a person, and it updates.

4

Send a follow-up

At the end of the answer there's a message to the customer (in the blue frame in the screenshot). Select it and copy it (on a phone: press and hold the text, then "Copy"). Or write to Claude "Just the message to the customer, with nothing before or after it", and then the first button on the left under the answer (an icon of two pages) copies it.

Paste it into a text or an email to the customer (press and hold in the message box, then "Paste").

Before you send: delete [name], including the brackets, and write the customer's name. And check that every date and price is right, and that the message sounds like you.

Today's task

After your next call with a customer, write or tell Claude what you talked about, and send the follow-up the same day.
